WonderfulWednesday: The thief of joy @mumsomeone
At first my wonderful Wednesday will seem a bit gloomy this week. It's really not though. It's from Danielle at Someone's Mum and is about the happiness she has over her son's personal progress.
If you read my blog regularly you will know that I'm not a fan of those heart-breaking milestones that were constant highlights that my boys were falling further and further behind. I learned that being proud of their achievements when they came was what was important for us. That's a bit why I started my #madeupmilestones guest series.
So Danielle's post is one I'm familiar with. The younger sibling that seems to find everything easy and overtake the elder with ease. The conversations that you can't take part in at the school gate because they are completely foreign to you. But then comes the wonderful.
Danielle's little lad moved up a grade in the Early Years Curriculum in a very special and personal way. Danielle doesn't say but I suspect she's proud of far more than simply ticking a box in a learning journal. It reminds me of the first time I saw David actively interact with another child at the playground. No one saw the amazing thing that he did. No one knew how fast my heart was beating or why I couldn't stop grinning.
If you haven't read Danielle's post yet, please do, it's just a wonderful feeling when something like this happens. Well done.
