Madeupmilestones: @GwynneMiriam and holding a puzzle piece
I'm proud of so many of my kids achievements. My boys often don't hit the same milestones as listed in the 'little red book' milestone chart and I've learned that creating our own milestone charts celebrating their own achievements is more valuable to me. This series celebrates the #madeupmilestones of those we care about. This month it's from Miriam at Faith Mummy and is about a moment of bravery in assembly.
Hi, I can't wait to hear about your #madeupmilestone. Here we go...
1. Who has achieved their #madeupmilestone, tell us a bit about them
My daughter Naomi who is 8 and has autism, selective mutism and anxiety.
2. When and where did the #madeupmilestone happen?
Naomi took part in her school assembly last Friday.
3. The fab part... what happened?
Naomi can not speak in school so could not have a speaking part and was terrified of being up front.
But she found the courage to hold a jigsaw piece up in her play this morning and that made me cry.
Here she is with her best friend holding star of the week award which the whole class received today.
I love this. I remember so well being pleased when Anthony was in his Christmas concert - even though he didn't sing and he just stood up and sat down with everyone. And when he's been supported by his classmates, it's such a great feeling. Well done Naomi. You can read more about Naomi and her family on Faith Mummy or follow them on Twitter. Thank you so much for taking part!

ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic that she took part in the assembly. I too know how hard these can be for all of the family. I love that everyone got a star of the week too.
