It really is an amazing feeling. When your child, or anyone you know for that matter even yourself, steps outside their comfort zone. When that person finds change difficult and new things terrifying, it's even more an accomplishment and this is very common for people with autism. That's why this week, my wonderful Wednesday share is this image from H2AU: the stuff of our life
I stumbled across this via their facebook page. It made my smile and think of a few times this has happened with my boys.
- When my son was motivated to write to another boy
- When Anthony took part in a swimming gala - I've never been so proud of last place
- When David shared his gingerbread - totally astonishing!
- When Anthony overcame change and tried skiing
It's a time for pride. So thanks H2AU: the stuff of our life for the reminder.
I'm soon launching a blog series celebrating the #madeupmilestones of our kids. Those special moments that aren't on the medical milestone chart but are so important for us. If you are interested in learning about this or taking part, click here.
