#CapturetheKindness

#CapturetheKindness photo image

I'm delighted to be taking part in the #ClangersforKindness campaign and am giving away two adorable Clangers Rucksacks to the best image in my #CapturetheKindness competition.  A post in the run up to World Kindness Day.

We all know the deal.  Kindness often costs nothing but can make a real difference. Sometimes my family and I can need to leave places because our autistic son's are having difficulty with the environment or what's happening. There will be times when we cannot prevent a meltdown or when 'it's just not happening today'.

Not everyone understands what it's like to be autistic or to have autism in the family.  They don't understand why my son will cry if the music is loud or why the other one will have a meltdown if we need to walk a different way around a supermarket.  They don't understand why my son squeals or why my other one can't stay still.

But what everyone does have is the ability to be kind. Thank you to the man who switched table at the cafe so my son's could sit in their familiar place. Thank you to the lady who smiled at us because what she saw was a boy smiling and not a boy squealing.  Thank you to the shop keeper who picked up my change when I couldn't put David down.   Thank you to the boy who wrote to my son and to the little girl who helped him when he got a bit lost during his class assembly. These are tiny acts of kindness that made such a difference to our day.

So I'm very pleased to run a competition in collaboration with #ClangersforKindness.  This campaign is about encouraging everyone on our beautiful blue planet to be kind, just like the Clangers are on their little blue planet too. But what kind of competition to run?   For me it was easy, it's got to be images.

Many autistic people are visual learners.  In fact images, symbols and even sign language are all utilised on a daily basis with my kids.  You might see me showing Anthony a photo of a person we are going to meet so he feels prepared or you might see me signing with our pre-verbal son David. It's all very visual.

So I'd love to see images and photos of kindness in my #CapturetheKindness competition

Cuddly toys wearing Clangers Rucksacks

To win these two sweet kiddie rucksacks featuring the Clangers, simply include #CapturetheKindness when posting your images and their stories. Don't forget to follow me on your chosen social media so to make it easy to contact you if you win. Here's what to do:

You can enter as many images as you like - the more, the merrier. The competition will close at midnight on 30th November. I'll share/like or comment all entries on my social media unless you state otherwise on your post.  I want to be overwhelmed with gorgeous stories and photos of kindness and I may also feature you on photo round-up posts. Now, if the video wasn't inspiring enough here's a few words to get you thinking.

The Little Things, by Margaret Lindsey

The little things are most worthwhile
A quiet word, a look, a smile,
A listening ear that's quick to share
Another's thoughts, another's care...
Though sometimes they may seem quite small,
These little things mean most of all.

Show me the kindest person you know.  Show me a child who has just been kind to their sibling or friend. Show me a photo of the results of kindness, that mowed lawn, a birthday card, the calmed child or the smiley face.  Show me by the end of November to be included in the draw.  Get set go!

Clangers Rucksacks by step

The winner will be picked randomly by me the day after the competition closes on 30th November. The prize of two Clangers Rucksacks as displayed above be sent direct from  #ClangersforKindness Campaign, Coolabi Media Group.  Judges decision is final, no cash alternative.
